I think I've been living under a rock because I just heard that there will be a new Miyazaki movie (Hayao, not Goro) coming out in 2008. Nausicaa.net states that the theme will be:
Ponyo is a goldfish princess who wishes to become human. Sosuke is a five year old boy who somehow becomes involved with Ponyo. A sense of closeness between a parent and child is a theme of the film.
Sounds like a story only Miyazaki could imagine. Apparently, he is storyboarding the entire movie in watercolour so I will be jumping on that Ghibli Storyboard Book as soon as it's available.
